Scavenger Hunt Sunday
I loved this week's prompts:
1. Waiting - it's not the greatest example I wanted to show for the prompt, but it will have to do - when we were kids we were always told that the 'Christkind' (Christ child as the gift bringer for Christmas) is baking and that's why the sky is so red. It often seemed to happen at a time when we were waiting for Christmas to be finally here.
2. Foliage - I used the gorgeous weather we have at the moment to winterize some of my plants. This leaf is from a banana plant. And look what I found underneath of one of them. Am I glad nobody was there anymore.
3. Candid - on most days my son is SO TIRED of getting photographed all the time. On this day I actually didn't have my camera with me. When sitting outside, he sat down in front of me and covered himself up with the leaves, saying 'Mommy, picture'. So I had to run inside to grab the camera and he tried to recreate it. He probably wanted to make up for my first leaf-covering-up attempt from a few weeks ago that he didnt' like at all..
4. Knife, Fork or Spoon - well, when I took the picture I didn't remember the little word 'or' in the prompt and tried my hardest to come up with something creative for all three of them. I liked the shadow they cast and tried to make that actually the focal point. And then I had some fun playing in PSE and reversed the colors. I'm not sure which version I like better, so I posted both of them.
5. Rule of Third - generally that's one rule I am most aware of. However, a lot of times, like here, I crop the picture to follow the rule..

Scavenger Hunt Sunday
Another week of Scavenger Hunt Sunday and I'm actually surprised that I got all the prompts, though not always great shots.
1. Mainly one color
I took this picture with this prompt in my mind. It looked better in person than now on the screen, but it's the only one I have for this..
2. Last weekend I took pictures of a coworker's family around their home. I'm proud with myself on how they came out. If anyone is interested, had over to my facebook page to take a look..
3. Reflection - I love how the sun is reflected in the water here but don't like the overall composition..
4. Writing- I cheated here and added a writing texture. I didn't get to anything else with this prompt this week so I'm posting this lavender again.
5. I took some birthday pictures yesterday on a little beach. I love how water always makes a nice backdrop.

Avenue
Grr.. so far behind again. I feel I'm always playing catch-up. There were a couple days last week where I didn't take or barely took any pictures. I really don't feel like finding any pics for those days though - even though I've been very busy. I started taking portraits of friends. And I LOVE it! I'm pretty proud of myself how they turned out - not that I'm done editing them, but for a preview. I also started a facebook page - see menu on the right..
I'm not sure yet if that's really the direction I want to go for sure -we'll see by the end of the year. I just can't wait for this 365 challenge to be over. It's starting to be a real chore, but I've come so far. I don't want to give up at this point.Pin It

Scavenger Hunt Sunday

I managed to get the prompts done, but not all of them were successful.
1. Before / After
Since color wasn't important here, I chose to do a simple b/w conversion.
2. Opposing Lines - there have to be opposing lines somewhere in this line-filled photo
3. Custom Bokeh - I have some serious issues with it. I don't know if there is a trick to it and I just didn't read all the instructions.. I can't get to focus with it.. I tried both automatic and manually, it just wouldn't. Any suggestions?

Trees #7 + Pinterest
It seems the colors are even more intense now, that they will be all gone soon. Just beautiful. Linked up with Desirae.
I would love to use pinterest and requested an invitation, but I heard that can take a looooong time. Does anyone have an invitation for me?Pin It

Scavenger Hunt Sunday
I'm glad I could scrape the pictures for this week's hunt together.. I went to a photography meet-up yesterday, and thankfully my motivation seems to be back again.

1. Food
2. Purple weeds
3. In Disguise
I didn't really like any pictures I took of my son in his Halloween costume..and then I remembered this hat that he never wore, because it covers too much of his face. And yes, I forgot to wipe his mouth. Oh well.
4. I love the shape from this wonderful key.
5. Photographer's choice
This is one of my favorite ones from the meet-up. Love his facial expressions.
